13F filings for the quarter ended Jun 30, 2026 · next update after Nov 14, 2026 · What is a 13F?
Every quarter, investment managers with more than $100 million in US-listed securities file Form 13F with the SEC: a list of what they held on the last day of the quarter. Spot crypto ETFs trade like any other listed share, so they show up in these filings. We collect them for every US spot crypto ETF we track, from Bitcoin and Ethereum to XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Chainlink and Dogecoin, back to the first quarter of trading in 2024.
Bitcoin ETFs account for 88% of the value reported in Q2 2026. The daily flows elsewhere on this site show how much money moved; this page shows whose money it is, quarter by quarter.
The number of 13F holders went from 1,000 in Q1 2024 to a peak of 2,286 in Q4 2025, and stood at 2,015 at the end of Q2 2026. The reported value moves mostly with crypto prices: it peaked at $49.4B in Q3 2025 and was $20.3B in Q2 2026. A falling value line does not mean institutions sold — for that, look at share counts below.

Holder types are our own classification of each manager, checked by hand for the largest holders; a 13F does not state what kind of firm the filer is. Managers we have not classified are grouped as “other managers” (11.8% of the value).
Changes are measured in shares across all crypto ETFs and valued at June 30, 2026 prices, so a price move does not count as buying or selling. The largest additions came from Wells Fargo (+$723M), Jane Street (+$591M), Goldman Sachs (+$210M), Bank of Montreal (+$158M), and Van Eck Associates (+$152M). The largest cuts came from Millennium Management (−$686M), Brevan Howard Capital Management (−$566M), Susquehanna International (−$280M), D. E. Shaw (−$221M), and IMC-Chicago (−$198M).
Bitcoin ETFs had 1,934 institutional holders and $18.0B of reported value in Q2 2026, Ethereum ETFs 726 holders and $1.74B. Goldman Sachs was the largest holder of XRP ETFs, with $86.5M — 48% of the XRP ETF value reported in 13F filings. An institution holding several funds of one asset counts once. Share of fund in 13F compares the shares institutions reported with the funds’ shares outstanding at quarter end, from the funds’ own 10-Q and 10-K reports.

Form 13F is a quarterly report that institutional investment managers file with the US Securities and Exchange Commission once they hold more than $100 million in US-listed securities. It lists each long position — the security, the number of shares and its value — as of the last day of the quarter: March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31. Filings are due within 45 days after the quarter ends, so positions at September 30, 2026 must be filed by November 14, 2026.
Spot crypto ETFs are listed shares, so a bank, hedge fund or adviser that holds IBIT, ETHA or an XRP ETF reports it the same way it reports any stock. The coins themselves, held directly, are not part of a 13F.

We read the 13F reports filed with the SEC since Q1 2024 and keep the rows for the US spot crypto ETFs tracked on this site, matched by CUSIP. Options on these ETFs are excluded. Where a manager restated its report, we use the restatement; holdings added by a later amendment are included. Some filers report value in thousands of dollars instead of dollars; we check each row against the fund's price in that quarter and correct it. Changes between quarters are measured in shares, then valued at the latest quarter-end price. Holder types are our own classification and may be revised. New filings are added as they arrive during the 45-day filing window.
