As of 2026年10月23日, 28 US spot crypto ETFs stake, and about $6.6B of their coins is staked — 38% of the $17.4B they hold in coins that can be staked. Solana funds stake almost everything; ether is the outlier, because BlackRock’s ETHA holds 53% of ETF ether and does not stake.

Solana, Avalanche and NEAR funds report the highest yields, 3.2–6.4% a year. Ethereum, Hyperliquid, Sui and Polkadot funds report 1.0–2.4%. Invesco’s QSOL is lower, about 2.0% by our estimate: it had 54% of its SOL staked on 2026年6月30日.

Whether a fund stakes, its cap on staked assets, providers and how rewards are paid come from its prospectus and other SEC filings. Each fund page links the filing.
Share staked and yield are shown as the issuer publishes them, with their date. Staked coins are an estimate: coins held × the disclosed share, or the target where none is disclosed.
Our own check: for funds that do not stake, coins per share can only shrink by the sponsor fee. Across 6 such funds the difference stays within 0.19 points a year.
Coins held and cash payouts update every trading day (T+1). Share staked and yields are the latest figures each issuer has published, with their date; we last checked them on 2026年10月23日.

What staking means for an ETF.

Proof-of-stake networks pay rewards to coins locked up to validate blocks. A staking ETF delegates part of its coins to validators through a provider and passes part of the rewards to holders.

Questions people ask

What is a staking ETF?

A staking ETF holds a proof-of-stake coin, such as ether or SOL, and locks part of it with validators to receive network rewards. As of 2026年10月23日, 28 US spot crypto ETFs do this: 22 pay the rewards in cash, 5 keep them in the fund and one, Canary’s HBR, assigns them to its sponsor.

Which crypto ETFs stake?

28 as of 2026年10月23日: all 9 Solana ETFs; 6 Ethereum ETFs (ETHE, ETH, ETHB, MSSE, TETH, FETH); the 3 Hyperliquid, 3 Sui and 3 Avalanche ETFs; and NRR (NEAR), HBR (Hedera), TRXS (Tron) and TDOT (Polkadot).

Can Bitcoin or XRP ETFs stake?

No. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Zcash run on proof of work, which has no staking, and the XRP Ledger has no staking either. The 21 US spot ETFs on these coins hold them without staking rewards.

How do staking ETFs pay out rewards?

22 funds sell the rewards and pay cash to shareholders, 10 monthly and 12 quarterly. 5 funds (BSOL, SOLC, SUIS, NRR and TRXS) keep the rewards, so the coins behind each share grow. Canary’s HBR pays all rewards to its sponsor.

Do staking ETFs pay dividends?

Not dividends from company profits: the staking funds pay cash distributions of staking rewards. Recent amounts per share: ETHE $0.0320 (ex-date 2026年10月5日), ETHB $0.0355 (10月8日), FSOL $0.1179 (9月16日) and SOEZ $0.0674 (10月19日).

Why do staking yields differ between funds?

The network’s reward rate (higher on Solana than on Ethereum), how much of the fund is staked (27% for FETH at 9月30日, 82% for ETHE at 10月22日) and the sponsor’s cut: holders receive from 67% (NRR) to 97% (QSOL) of rewards.

Does the HBAR ETF pay staking rewards to holders?

No. Canary’s HBR had 100% of its HBAR staked at 2026年6月30日, but its prospectus assigns all staking rewards to the sponsor; shareholders receive none.

Which staking ETFs are still waiting for the SEC?

As of 2026年10月23日, three: Canary Staked INJ, Canary Staked SEI and Canary Staked CRO. VanEck withdrew its Lido Staked Ethereum ETF and CoinShares its Solana Staking ETF.
